Sarah Bryant - =7th at WKF Cadet Champs
JAMES GRACE 18, SARAH BRYANT 16 KATE BRYANT 16 and LARISSA SMITH 14 made NZ team and all travelled to Commonwealth Champs where they all medalled. All 4 where later selected for kumite, in the NZ team and travelled to Malaysia for the WKF Cadet/Junior world Champs. Well Done

Sensei Toby Threadgill Seminar in NZ
Sensie Toby Threadgill visited New Zealand and conducted seminars on December 2/3/4. Seminar was well attended with students travelling from Australia to participate. He will visit New Zealand again in 2012 in September and December

Sensei Robbie Smith was part of three referees that represented New Zealand at the World Karate Federation Senior World Championships in Serbia.
Congratulations to Sensei Simon Merrick and Sensei Johnny Ling who also attended and upgraded their refereeing qualification to Referee A in Kumite.

KNZ Camp 24-26 Jan 2009
Members of the Hamilton Wado-Kai Karate Club attended the KNZ Camp held over the Auckland Anniversary weekend and endured the 30 degrees heat over three full days of training and fitness testing. The camp is part of the KNZ High Performance plan that will prepare athletes for the Commonwealth Karate champs in India, WKF Junior/cadet champs in Morocco and the World Games in Taiwan.

WKF World Champs
Sensei Robbie attended the 2008 World Karate Federation World Senior Championships in Tokyo. It was a very short trip with four busy days refereeing. 2009 will see some changes to the rules.

Toby Threadgill Seminars
Toby Threadgill, menkyo kaiden of Takamura Ha Shindo Yoshin Ryu conducted seminars in Auckland and Hamilton over the weekend of December 5,6 and 7th. . Sensei Robbie Smith will lead a Study Group in Hamilton at the Yoshin Wadokan dojo.
