7 members of the club attended the KNZ National Kumite Training camp in Auckland over the weekend of 24/25 Feb. All members received positive feedback from national coaches. Club Climbs the Pinnacles

Club Climbs the Pinnacles
10/11 February. Club Climbs the Pinnacles!!! Saturday the 10th February 20 members of the club and friends went to climb the Pinnacles in Coromandel from Kauaeranga Valley Road and stayed on top at the Doc hut over night. 6am morning rise to make the summit for Sun rise then a 4 hour walk back along the ?Billy goat? track. Congratulations
Congratulations to Sarah Campbell and Louise Fisk who have been granted a Prime Minister Scholarship from Karate New Zealand. This award is worth up to $10,000 towards their University study along with other benefits received through the University. Both Louise and Sarah were part of the national team last year, selected for Kata. There are only ten scholarships awarded per year from Karate New Zealand. [more]

Robbie Smith 6th Dan has is the first New Zealander to achieve World Karate Federation Kata Judge A and Kumite Referee A. Robbie passed these exams in October at the World Championships in Finland. [more]
